Resume Tip #25: Allow two weeks to hear back from a startup

People working in startups are very busy and might not be able to respond back as quickly as you’d imagine. The rule of thumb is to wait two weeks before you follow up.

Resume Tip #25: Allow two weeks to hear back from a startup.

What you need to do:

  1. Send your resume and wait for someone to write back to you;
  2. Wait at least two weeks before you start asking yourself whether someone looked over your resume or not.

The delay between the moment when you send your resume and the moment when someone responds back may vary; thus, it’s a good idea to focus on something else during that time. Be patient.
