Resume Tip #5: The title of your resume should be your name

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, then it must be a duck.

The same applies to resumes: don’t label your resume with ”resume” or ”CV” (i.e. curriculum vitae).

Resume Tip #5: The title of your resume should be your name.

What you need to do:

  1. Replace bad titles like ”resume” or ”CV” with your actual name;
  2. Increase the size of the title on your resume (i.e. your name) in order to be the largest text on the page.

Recruiters deal with resumes every day and they know how to instantly recognize one. Bring your name to their attention instead of the most commonly used words ”resume” or ”CV”. Recruiters are not searching for resumes, they are searching for qualified people.
